After Esztergom, the previous stage returns to Hungary via Slovakia at Szob; from here, this stage begins and follows the Danube through Zebegény and Nagymaros. On the opposite bank, the silhouette of Visegrád and its hilltop citadel repeatedly comes into view, while the cycle route continues on varied, gently rolling sections towards Verőce. Here, the route briefly follows a signed on-road cycling alignment before returning to the riverside path leading into Vác. Throughout the stage, cyclists are accompanied by the iconic panoramas of the Danube Bend.
